Holograph with typescript copy. A letter written in H.B.M. Consulate, Old Calabar, West Africa [to] "My dear Rose" telling of her experiences in working with people in West Africa who were stricken with typhoid and of native uprising at Brass, cannibalism, and other local customs. Also includes a letter dated [1933] April 11 from Stephen Gwynne commenting on the Kingsley letter.
